Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Mi MDev is an independent app built and maintained by a single developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by MTN Nigeria or MTN Group. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
Information the app uses
Device login credentials (the ones printed on your router's label or set by you) are stored locally on your device to let the app talk to your router's web interface.
Device status (signal, battery, connection info) is read directly from your router and displayed in the app. It is not sent anywhere else.
Basic install and crash analytics, if enabled on your device, come from Google Play, the same as any app you install from the store.
Starting with version 2.1.0, if the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a report to Sentry, a crash-reporting service. The report contains standard crash data, such as what went wrong and which app version and phone model it happened on.
Starting with version 2.1.0, Settings also has a Send feedback form. If you use it, the message you write is sent to me through Sentry, along with your email address if you choose to add one. The email is optional and is there so I can reply to you. No screenshot is attached.
What isn't collected
No account or sign-up is required to use the app.
No personal data is sold or shared with advertisers.
No message content is stored beyond what's needed to display it in the app.
Third parties
The app communicates directly with your device over your local network and, for balance and data checks, via standard USSD requests to MTN's network. It does not route this traffic through any Mi MDev server, because there is none.
Crash reports and feedback are sent to Sentry, an outside service that receives and stores them for me. Sentry's handling of that data is covered by its own privacy policy.
Data retention and control
Data the app stores on your device, such as your device logins, is removed when you uninstall the app. You can clear stored device logins at any time from Settings. Crash reports and feedback you send are held by Sentry, so uninstalling the app doesn't remove them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update date above will change and, where the change is material, I'll note it in the app.
